The University Composition Committee Writing Contest is open to all students who were enrolled in a Preparatory, English Composition, or Intermediate Composition course from spring 2019 through fall 2019. Essays must have been initially written to fulfill an assignment in an English Composition course.

All submissions must contain the following:

  • A completed application form
  • An unmarked copy of the essay - typed, double spaced, with author’s name, the course number, and date
  • All essays should have a title, and all researched and text-based essays should use appropriate documentation.

Entries may be submitted at any time throughout the year but no later than January 22, 2020.

Each student may submit no more than two essays and no more than one per category. Each essay must be submitted separately.

Dunn Excellence in Writing and Applied Science, that celebrates the best of student writing at the University of Cincinnati.   The winner of this award will be selected from entries submitted to the categories listed on the application form.

 

Research Award

The award for the best researched essay is sponsored by UC Libraries. The winning essay will be selected from entries submitted to the categories listed on the application form.

 

Multi-Modal Award 

The best multi-modal project will be selected from entries submitted to the categories listed on the application form.
