Bearcats Academy Student Application 2020-2021

Bearcats Academy (BA) is a multi-year mentoring program within the UC Scholars Academy Initiative that aims to increase the number of competitive college applicants from CPS schools. BA provides opportunities for high school students to be on campus, engage with research, and interact with various careers and college disciplines. BA supports skills sets, navigation of the college path and financial education. With near-peer mentors, college-bound scholars will increase their understanding of college environments, learn ways to contribute to an academic field, and impact their community in innovative ways all within a supportive community.

  • Students meet weekly with mentors at school sites to work on skill sets that supplement academic performance.
  • Students meet quarterly on the UC campus to engage in Scholarly experiences and college and career readiness workshops.
  • Students participate in a Summer program to supplement their college path.
